Planters and Artificial Plants for Pakistani Apartments

by Alur Decor Team 29 Oct 2026 0 Comments

For a Pakistani apartment, the easiest greenery is a small tabletop planter with a good-quality artificial plant: it needs no watering, sunlight or balcony, and still makes a room feel fresh. If you prefer live plants, choose small, hardy ones and use a plastic liner inside a decorative planter so water and soil never touch the outer pot.

Why apartments suit small planters

  • Limited sunlight. Many flats get little direct light, which makes live plants hard to keep healthy. Faux plants don't need any.
  • Limited space. A 4 or 5 inch planter fits a window ledge, a desk, a shelf or a coffee table.
  • Dust. Indoor plants in cities collect dust. A faux plant can be wiped or rinsed; a polished steel planter wipes clean.
  • Travel. If you are away for Eid or a long trip, a faux plant doesn't suffer.

Choosing a faux plant

Our artificial plants come in their own small pots (from Rs 790) and sit straight inside a planter:

Planters are sold without plants, so pick one plant per planter.

Where to put them

  • Window ledge: the small planter, in pairs or with a vase.
  • Work desk: one small planter beside the screen.
  • Coffee table or TV unit: a duo, small and medium side by side.
  • Bathroom shelf: a faux plant handles humidity without fuss.
  • Bookshelves: break up rows of books with one planter every shelf or two.

If you prefer live plants

Keep the plant in its plastic nursery pot, or use a plastic liner, and stand it inside the steel planter. This keeps wet soil off the steel and lets you lift the plant out to water it at the sink. Empty any water that collects at the bottom and dry the planter.

Care

Dust faux plants with a soft brush or a quick rinse and let them dry. Wipe planters with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, then dry. Avoid bleach, scouring powders and steel wool, as the stainless steel industry's home cleaning guide advises.

Frequently asked questions

Do the planters come with plants?

No. Plants are sold separately. Our faux plants come in their own pots and fit inside.

Can I put a live plant in a stainless steel planter?

Yes, inside a plastic liner or its nursery pot, so water and soil don't sit against the steel.

What size planter for a desk?

The small planter, 4 in (10 cm) wide and tall.
